It’s that time of year when cold and flu season is at its peak. Here are 5 quick tips for avoiding catching a cold or the flu:
* Avoid contact with people who are sick if possible.
* Wash your hands frequently.
* Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
* Stay home if you have a respiratory infection.
* Cover your mouth or tuck it into your elbow when coughing or sneezing and wash your hands afterward.
Remember to replace your toothbrush every three months, and always replace it after you’ve had illnesses like the flu or a cold. Toothbrush bristles wear down, become less effective and can harbor bacteria over time.
